Yoo Jaesuk Character Design

For my Character Design class, in a 4 week project, we had to take a celebrity and make a cartoony caricature out of them. I decided to go with Korea's Nation MC Yoo Jaesuk.

Week 1:
basic caricature, facial studies.
make two final drawings in 1) a rounder fluid style. 2) a blocky stiff style.

Week 2:

take your favorite drawing from the previous and make a character turn-around

i chose the fluid one

Week 3:

shape design.

manipulate your celebrity into various shapes by changing the proportions.

make 5 circle based, 5 triangle, 5 square, 5 combination.

i wasn't satisfied with the above so after emailing my teacher, he suggested to put them even more.

Week 4:
create a final design of your celebrity and color it.
